My gal was always bragging about her stupid beta on her desk at work. Not to be outdone by some toilet bowl fish, I found 3reef and never looked back.

    why started

Cause a high maintenance reef tank is like having a " high maintenance Trophy Wife " with the benefit that the tank doesn't talk back, and is a lot cheaper to maintain in the long run.

HUUM My grandfather had tanks all his married life as I was told he was married in 1915 and started with the old iron tanks about then Granny used to say ? He and she raised me from when I was about 4 or 5 and I was always in there with him. from the time I could get in his way ,
He was breeding and hybridizing Angels in the early 50's and we had some old wild caught brown/green discus he got them to spawn in the mid 50's man that was when I got totally hooked . Seeing those fish spawn and watching the fry feeding of the parents skin was way cool I thought. And the way they and the angels stuck their eggs on the slate ot flower pots or the amazon sword plants leaves.

Then we took some fish we had caught fishing a flounder and a few croaker or spot ? home and made saltwater runs every weekend From Richmond to Buck roe Beach or Yorktown river . He had to epoxy coat some old metal trashcans as plastic was a ways out yet LOL

He /we :) kept those fish alive for a good long while , Then when Pop started to set at the table and mix all the stuff together for the first synthetic salt he had gotten a recipe for it was like my Gilbert's Chemistry kit x 10 LOL Crap was called Ruby Red I think LOL it was junk but all we had or go to the beach . Then some place in Holland hit up on a blend that worked then I/O came along about 60 or 62 or so and the public had access thats when we got out first real reef fish A Florida Rock Angel man that was beautiful fish LOL

But other then my time in the Army nd over seas and a little 2yr break in 89 when i built a new house and moved have always had at least one nice marine tank running started and sold two LFS in the early to mid 70's and today i still mes with the fish tanks. Its been a long road and lots has changed but the solid basics will never change we always seem to come back to the center at some point.

Now this is my story and I'm sticking to it LOL and please lets not bust me on being old ! LOL I know I am.. But its my Grandparents fault ,yes thats it they did this to me .. ;D
