Wez, if you've been on this forum for some time, you'll find that a 40 gallon is too small for tangs :( ....I wish it wasn't the case myself. Only a tomini tang can be kept in a smaller tank and Corailline clarified that one needs at least a 75 gallon to house that.

In terms of your parameters, I don't know what the 23.4 is in terms of salinity. All of the other values seem good to me.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
How are you measuring your SG ppt? And what are you using to measure it?

What salt mix are you using?

I am at a loss as to why your dosing so much per the other thread.

I'd get a refractometer with calibration fluid to confirm salinity since all of your other parameters look pretty good. Possible the leather is doing chemical warfare on the other corals.

You can't really have too many corals; however, you do need to research each species. Many require a lot of space around them as they spread long sweeper tentacles at night that sting other corals. Some also require an occasional feeding.

As for the webs, that would be from Vermatid Snails. They spread webs to trap food, but they can also irritate a coral to death. It's quite likely that they're causing the Leather to release toxins that are affecting the other corals.

Are you running carbon? If not, you may want to look into running quality carbon at least for a little while and see if it helps.
