    I would like to know the "clearance" needed for this skimmer. Anyone? I've got the aquaticlife lights w/legs. If I measured right I've got about 2" clearance from lights to tank rim.

    I believe we have the same exact tank. I have mine as far up it can it go to where the top suction cup hits the rim. From the indented part of the rim, the cup is about an inch above, two inches if you count the air flow controller. My cup is somewhat lower in the skimmer.

    Do your lights take up the whole entire top part of your tank? I'm sure you can get the skimmer to fit, removing the cup might be the only issue.
