    Hi people. Would anyone know the min water lvl the hydor slim skim requires? T unit says its 17 1/2 inches tall. but the skimmer ports are lower then the top of the unit..any help?

    yea man I saw that vid but I would like to put the skimmer in my sump..but my sump max water lvl is maybe 12"

    It's not designed for that use. Honestly I never really thought about using it that way. When that model first came out I was really disappointed in the performance. It looks like they have made some modifications.
    For the skimmer to run properly and efficiently it's been designed to operate at specific water level. That water level is dictated by intake, if you position the skimmer at level where less water is entering through the intake the skimmer will not preform as desired, it may dump a ton of micro bubbles in your tank. I would want an ATO if your going to run it in a sump at a lower level.

    yea that makes since... the problem is now I already ordered one lol yea never look before I leap kind of guy and I was now thinking of how this will work lol I just needed a skimmer and a good one and $105 was calling to me
