Verry small clear aptasia looking things on my liverock. They are only out at nite time, when i turn my lights on within 10-20 seconds they all fade away back into my liverock. I started my tank out with only dry eco rock over a year and a half ago. The only 2 pieces of liverock that was added to my tank was a rock with green mushrooms from a lfs. And another piece from a friend which had purple mushrooms on it. Any info would be appreciated. Trying to figure out how to post pics from my phone for u all to see.

    Hello and Welcome to 3reef,

Typically hydroids retreat into a tube like structure and are present during the lighting period. While hard to speculate I suspect what you are seeing could be a type of hitch-hiking worm. The link below is a good reference for ID of the typical hitch-hikers.

here is a pic of the hydroids that I had hell with in my tank. It seems that it's not a problem for most people, but it was a big problem for me.

Does it have little balls on the tips? Strawberry anemones are nocturnal and they can be clear looking similar to an appy.

When posting click on the manage attachments button and then the browse button. A window should open to your pics. Then open the ones you want and click upload. If you still have diff the pics could be too large. Try going to photo bucket.com and open a free account then you'll be able to paste the link from there. Hope this helps.;)
