Looks like I was worried about the wrong things. :p

I always thought they were nice looking benign little brown fuzzy polyps of some sort.

i had a colt die for no reason at all once .the only thing that was suspect was the hydroids all around it.the only way i've found to rid my tank of those things is to cover them with something.kalkwasser works but i'm sure theres better things, maybe joesjuice.

There seems to be so many different varieties of hydroids, had to tell which are harmful and which are not.

As can be seen by pic, zoa's seem to have no problem growing among them. Also some mushrooms very close by. Also a frogspawn that often opens over them.

The ones in pic represent couple years of growth...so they are not that fast in spreading.

Guess I am not going to worry about them too much, unless they start start to get out of hand. Actually I think they are quite pretty...:p

Also have them on rock in 12 gal. nano...(lower left) - rock was next to the bunch in the main tank that I moved over.

Getting rid of them all would probably be a pretty ugly operation.

I will be calling Tangster for right kind of Copperband when I think I need one.
