    My lionfish died today. :(
I think my cleaner shrimp killed it, but im not sure.
Every time i buy a dwarf lionfish it ends up dead.
My water parameters are all good.
They either die by not eating or something ends up killing it.
I am done with thee guys!!!!

woh woh now... I wouldnt jump to conclusions, After having 2 non eating naso tangs, didnt stop me and I took once last shot and I have a very hardy, full bellied naso!

I highly doubt the cleaner shrimp is killing your lion. Theres got to be another issue that is just hidin to the visible eye, I had that problem with a bacterial issue about 3 months ago.. Got a uv steralizer and everything is grand now!

I agree, don't be so quick to give up. Lion fish are one of the more sensitive fish to take on. It can take a few fish to find the right one with more sensitive species.

If it's your favorite fish and one that you are dead set on having in your display I wouldn't give up. Try doing as much research and having in place every type of odd feeding method you can find online. Also if you not using one already, set up a small QT to get it stable in.

look at the type of lionfish that you wish to keep... Read up about it, any info, old posts... see what the biologists have to say and the hobbyist! Also about how to pick out a specimen of that type of fish etc...

but everytime the cleaner shrimp sees the lion it dashes toward it and rip and tear the tail.

Perhaps the cleaner shrimp knows what it's fate will be when that fish matures.

I would get rid of the shrimp if I were you. If I caught something as little as a shrimp messing with one of my fish it would be a fight to the death. rock and sand flying everywhere until I had the little guy lol.
