I don't get it!!!!

    So this morning I woke up and was looking for my scissor tail goby as I do EVERY morning, I am walking down stairs as the Actinics are coming on and thinking to myself "oh cool, I love to watch him wake up" He has a burrow under some live rock and as soon as the lights come on and go off...clockwork, bedtime for dude! This morning I'm watching the tank thinking....what the heck?!? Where is my guy!?! Turn around (after putting my glasses on) and I see my baby dead on the floor!!!:cry: What the heck man!!! I mean really.....He was one of my first fish and was SOOOO healthy and happy I really just don't get it!! I am so bummed right now I cant even believe it! I can not figure out how he would have gotten out of my tank, I know they are notorious for jumping but my tank is pretty secure. There is one small hole in the back where my skimmer pipe runs down, but that's in the back!!! He was like 4-5 feet in front of the tank! GAHHHH!!!

    sorry, that stinks. :( but it sounds like you did all you could to try and keep him in.

    Sorry for the loss. It seems like if they are determined they always find a way. I really do not get how they know where the one tiny hole is, but it seems like they do.

    Sure messes up the morning routine. :-(

    I hate hearing this. I just lost my first fish for my new setup by it jumping...but I had no lid/screen. And I was out of town....typical.

    I read and heard these are very notorious for carpet surfing. One guy I met at a LFS said he had 2 in the past that even made it thru egg crate.

    That was one of my first fish 15 years ago. He disappeared. I found him TEN years later. Crispified. :-(
