Well not really but my diadema urchin put a spike or two in my hand. I was cleaning the tank and not paying any attention to him as usual and accidently hit him. Anyway it hurt like hell at first, then the pain went away shortly after. I cleaned it up and soaked it in vinegar as recommended but there is still something wedged in my finger I cant get out. It's been about two weeks and my finger is still swollen and no matter how much I dig I cant get the spike out. According to the net vinegar will dissolve the spike but it hasnt worked so far. Anyone else have this issue? What did you do to get all healed up? It's not ungodly painful or anything but I would hate to pay someone to dig this out of my hand.

try a lance it,you can get them at a local pharmacy,i used to use them to get metal shaving splinters out when i worked with sheet metal. It opens it more so you can get to it to dig it out. There scalple sharp,so they don't hurt that much, but i'll tell,it was a big relief to get those shavings out as it seemed like they always hit a nerve and would get so sore that i literally cut them out.A few minutes of pain is worth many days of relief.

I agree, keep cutting until you pull it out. It's cheaper than the doctor :)
