Despite everyone telling me I was wasting my time and the only real treatment for ick is copper or hypo, Ick Attack works.

I received a tiny Blue Caribbean tang on September 14th from Live Aquaria and put him into a quarantine tank. Within a few weeks he developed ick and I immediately started treating with Ick Attack. I treated for four weeks until all spots had disappeared, I stopped treatment a week ago. The fish has done very well the entire time, he has been eating, very active and actually has doubled in size over the past seven weeks.

This is obviously not scientific but the bottom line is that it worked for me, the key is to double the doses and feed well with a garlic enhanced food. I am going to wait another 3 weeks or so before adding him to my main tank (90G) depending on how he looks. He is growing so fast that he is outgrowing the 29gallon QT, and its a biocube so there is no where to swim.

Congrats on the recovery. Its like the saying goes, what works for one person or persons may not work for the other/s. I love my regal tang also.

I hope you're right, but due to the life cycle of ich, the spots coming off the fish and being gone for a week it's not proof of it being cured. That's definitely a good plan to keep it in there awhile longer.

Whats with everyone hoping for the worst, obviously its a good sign that the spots are gone and that he has doubled his size. Lets hope for the best;D

the ich cycle includes more than just being on the fish.
it falls from the fish to the bottom then cycles into the water column then back onto the fish to once again start the cycle over.No one is being a downer but mentioning that it wouldnt hurt to continue treatment a lil while longer.

I too had the same results with the kordon organic ich meds. They work great.

Definitely not hoping for the worst. Just pointing out something that often gets overlooked when treating ich.

Is that stuff safe to use in a reef tank or will it corals and inverts?
