Sorry for the dirtyness of my tank. I'm planning a cleaning day this weekend :-[

And, I'm sure this is a pretty noobyish question...

But... what are these? They remind me of barnacles without the shell, but are almost attached together with a web like substance. This area is the densest, but they have spread across the back of my tank. Are they harmful. How do I remove them (if needed?)

Lastly, is this aiptasia? I have noticed a few sprouting up in my tank... but they don't look as translucent as some of the pictures I have seen... but they are also tiny, so idk!

    THANKS! :)

The white specks are probably a type of fan worm. They are completely harmless. Do they look like little spiraled tubes? Not sure what the other thing is. It doesn't look like any apstasia I've had in my aquarium. Hopefully someone else will be able to ID for you.

    Thanks! :)

Any more input on the webthing (pest or not?) and the other thing would be awesome.

Sorry if pics suck.... my camera tries to autofocus when I zoom in.... and it likes to focus on the glass instead of what's inside!

They thing in question is less the white dots but more the weird brown tubes. They look like a miniture fan worm kinda, but are connected with a silky substance that looks like a spiderweb.

I think I am going to lean toward hydroid. Next question. Do I need to get rid of it? lol. And how?
