Eh, DI is not distilled water. RO = Reverse Osmosis, DI = Deionized

This could be the source of your problems as they stand, and may be a source of future problems to come.

It would be a very worthwhile investment to look into a RO/DI system for yourself if you plan to stay in this hobby.

No specific recommendation for a PO4 test kit; they're all about the same. Ideally 0, but 0 will be nearly impossible to get without running GFO (granular ferric oxide). Shoot for <0.02.

So in the short term what would be the best water to buy?

    Thanks

Do any LFS near you sell RO or RO/DI? Probably your best bet. Other options would be something along the lines of a local "water mart" store, or finding an RO machine at a local grocery store (but do watch the filter change date on the machine, make sure it's recent).
