    Maybe Montipora undata. Do you know anything about the original colony?

    To make things more confusing i am leaning towards with Montipora confusa. Reason being "Coenosteum ridges on branches form the distinctive flame-shaped pattern illustrated. " Yours has not formed branches yet. But this is just my guess from one i see.

    M. spongodes will not have these ridges in between the polyps.

    Sorry i dont. the thing that it throwing me off, is that the rim is purple. i will get a better pic tonight and post it.

    ORA montipora confusa is pinkish/reddish depending on lighting with a purple growth rim. I have one myself looks very similair to the picture

    I had an ORA Purple Rim Confusia, and this is identical. Checking photobucket for an image now. :D
