a friend brought this supernice frag over this afternoon and left it with my.

when i got home i couldn't reach my friend by phone and i have no clue what this frag is or how to care for it. ie placement, flow, lighting....

each indentation (for lack of a better word...) has a neon green center which leads me to believe it has wicked large polyps. this thing is way thicker than any acro i have now, anybody have a clue what it is? or what genus its from?

    thanks!

Hydnophora comes to mind, but I am no where near positive. I would love to see it with full PE. I thought possibly a branching Cyphastrea but I don't think the coralites are that close together on them. I am very curious to find out what it is.

Yeah, it's just that oculina is rare....like super rare. It's illegal to collect, according to the book I looked in, as it's thought to be endangered.

It is also a Floridian species though....hrm...
