I purchased a candy cane coral about 7 months ago and there were a few unknown objects on them. They are little brown feather looking things (see attached picture). I know the picture is hard to make out but my cell phone camera is horrible. These things have transitioned off the candy cane onto the rocks and i'm getting a good amount of them now.

    Thanks!

almost look like yellow polyps(a little to small) which spread like crazy but the stalks look narrow. Are the stalks solid? Or are they soft?

The stalks are soft. The stalks resemble "hair" that is attached to the rock.
