    seems to be a hard base with skinny see through tubes all around the base. what is this and should i get rid of it.

    my 1st guess would be aiptasia. which if it is, you want to get rid of.

    wait i dont think thats a apatasia it looks like a cup coral i have 3 in my tank they wont mess with anything

    I think I can see the cup coral being mentioned but just above it I also see a semi transparent nem type creature that others believe is the Aiptasia


    maybe its my eyes playing tricks

    That's a non-photosynthetic cup coral. Probably Caryophyllia sp....possibly Balanophyllia
