I've had this sin Feb. I got it in a pack from a reefer buddy but never have been able to ID it. He doesn't know for sure what it is either. Don't let the pics fool you into thinking it's a plating coral because I honest don't think it is. The one side only looks like it's going to plate because of the way I glued it to the rock..there's nothing under that side. The other side has contact with the rock and is slowly encrusting it. That alone just complicates IDing it, for me anyway.
The ID wasn't really that important to me. It's just one of those questions that I can't find an answer to and now I'm determined to get it. lol
K+ to the person with the ID (sarah)

    I don't think it's a digi. I was kinda thinking it's a Strawberry Cap but I don't know.

I agree it looks like the Strawberry "cap". Don't remember the species name tho.

This is where I'm getting stuck. If you google strawberry caps monti there are a couple that come up that look very close. My buddy Han only collects LE's, ORA's, Tyree, etc. so I know it's along those lines.

BTW to everyone..I value all of your opinions, guesses, knowledge very much. The only reason tomita's name is in () is I call her my "sarahpedia of coral identification" LOL. Hope I didn't offend anyone. :-[
