I added pictures...see below I can't get a very good picture to post, but this is growing from the bottom of one of my rocks and seems to be growing and spreading fast. I just bought a frag from my lfs and now it's got this stuff growing out the top of it. It's pink and soft...looks almost like a root of something. I just want to make sure that it's nothing bad. I can't find a picture that looks anything like what it is on here.

Let me know if I need a better picture.

    Thanks!

May be sponge..but not sure - I added pics.

I added pictures...they seem clearer. It's flowing..not hard. Pink...and growing all over the bottom of this rock...plus found some on top of another rock too now.

I think I have something similar to what you have but I do not know what it is either. Unknown! Does this look like yours.

Definitely sponge, the flatter of the 2 is encrusting sponge, if you can take the rock out and brush it off with a clean toothbrush I would. It will grow over corals and sufficate them. The longer stuff is also sponge, but usually won't present a problem.
