    i just started my very first saltwater tank today... i put the sand in and then added water and let it filter for a week and i added my very first live rock today and ive noticed 3-4 little legs sticking out and ive researched this a lil bit now and im thinking its either a brittle or serpent star... do they come out of the rock or just chill inside?

    Usually just hang out in the rock and stick a couple legs out to try and catch something in the current. Good little guys to have, hopefully they'll survive if you have any sort of a cycle. Sometimes you'll see them moving around but not much, more often at night, they're nocturnal.
