Ive been drinking vitaminwater for awhile now and here since I got burned, Ive been drinking more. I have been feeling weird and sick and assumed it was side effects from the meds. Well I wasnt taking the pain meds cause I wasnt in pain, and had switched burn creams because that was thought to be causing the side effects. I woke up the other day and drank a vitamin water and within 15mins I was feeling sick again. Well as it turns out 1 bottle contains 50% of your daily needs of vitamin B's and if you drink 3 or 4 a day, then you are overdosing on vitamin B's. Vitamin B overdosing was causing all of my weird/unusual side effects. I stopped drinking it and they have stopped.

The side effects I was having are... Heart palpitation, insomnia, agitation, nausea, dizziness, migraine-headaches,muscle spasms / cramps, shortness of breath, loss of appetite, confusion, irritability and loss of memory on occasion...

I have been drinking vitamin water for a while now and if I have one without eating anything I feel a little sick like I just took a multi-vitamin on an empty stomach or something I can't say I have had more than 3 in a day though but definitley 2 in a day I do like the stuff you know good flavor less sugar than most other sports type drinks. I guess regular water is best. That G2 stuff is good too less sugar and calories . Feel Better soon and you are typing pretty good for a guy with bandages on his hands. what happened by the way?

Wow. You'd think that there'd be some kind of warning on the bottle!

That Gatorade G2 is good, tastes like watered down koolaid. I had to cut out the Mtn Dew and the doctor said it was ok to drink vitamin water, never said anything about drinking too much of it.

In one of my previous lives I was an oncology nurse and administered chemo at a very busy chemo center. One of the biggest problems with vitamins of any kind and herbal supplements is that they are not FDA regulated. Vitamins have been tested and daily amounts have been established for many of them. However get into herbals and other supplements you dont know how things will react with other medications, or various treatments that you are on. And the concentration and purity is not tested. I remember a pt that was drinking a concotion of herbal teas that she got from her friend while she was on chemo, it caused her liver enzymes to go sky high, almost to the point that the doctor was going to have to stop chemo because her liver was dying. As soon as we realized she was on the teas and had her stop drinking them to see if that helped and they started to come down and she was able to stay on chemo. She fortunately did not have to miss one dose of chemo.

But with the vitamin water I worry that it is not regulated how the vitamins are processed, and the actual "dosage" of the vitamins contained in the water are acurate. There are 2 types...water soluble and fat soluble. One if you have excess (water) unless you have some type of kidney problem you will just pee out. The other, (fat) gets stored and can cause problems.

I just believe that people should just take a simple multivitamin and eat healthy and that should be enough.

Here is a very quick article on vitamin water that I found on Mayo
Vitamin water: Better than plain water? - MayoClinic.com

I am glad that you figured out what was causing your problems and that you are feeling better ;D

The same goes for energy drinks. Rockstar, Sobe, Monster, and most others have at least 200 percent of a lot of B vitamins. I get a lot of the same affects if I have those.

he didn't exactly make it, but was one of the primary financial backers in developing the drink, then when it got big he sold it to Glaceau for some 50 million dollars.

I don't care much for his music, but he's very business savvy.
