well my mom said that i could get the 55 gallon. so now i just need to pay the people and pick it up! only prob is that i have to wait until spring break (in a week) to clean out the garage so i can put it in there while i get the supplies!

    im so happy.

i need some rock and sand obviously, os if anyone want to get rid of some, i will buuy depending on price, quantity and my money situation. SEABASS1 is already selling me 30 lbs but i want around 100 total since its gonna be an aggressive fish tank. so anyone got some stuff they want to get rid of?

    my stocking list i want:

    radiatta lionfish

    snowflake eel

    picasso (Huma Huma) trigger

i will be using caulerpa (protein skimmer eventually when i save up for one) as a filter, as well as mangroves when i find out where i have room for them in the tank.

in not too sure about a CUC for this tank because the trigger may eat any snails and hermits, so ill have to ask john about that.

any questions or ideas are gladly welcome!!

    cool

I know you're exited to get it and set it up and everything, but if it were me I would prob just wait until I could get a protein skimmer- do it right the first time know what I mean?

Being fowlr he can get buy for a while without a skimmer,as long as he keeps up on water changes, and using macros will help as well:)

You could probably cram 100# of denser rock in a 55g , sure, but you'll have every little room for fish. Maybe 70-75# if you want that much. Then, you can grab a 20g on ebay for cheap and make a fuge, gravity fed back into your tank (40 bucks).
I agree with the skimmer though. You could probably get buy for a coupla months but after your fish & all get to eating & doin' their thing, its only a matter of time before you start having problems. Start slow & do it right.
Alot of the guys on here are willing to help you out, but ya gotta make up your mind and ask. Submit a thread and ask for a used HOB skimmer. Heck, I think I got a couple around somewhere.
Weren't you trading corals for some stuff on another thread?
