OK... my son informed me tonight he bought me a 75 gallon tank for my birthday.. The size of the tank is 48x20x18

My husband is making me the stand (he is awesome with woodworking)

I would like to start hunting for my lights now. What do you recommend?? I will have mushrooms, leathers, zoos, hammerhead, psp, xenia and someday in the future I will get an anemone.

So please any and all advice is welcome.;D

OOOPs my title should have said I'm "a" lucky mother...

TEK T5 units are very good - you can get a 6 x 54 watt hood that fits a 48 inch tank

Halides as mentioned above may be better, if your aim is one of the more light demanding Nems - providing you can handle the extra heat generated by them

Thats a smashing gift by the way

Congratulations! Gotta love a present, especially one you like! I agree on the T5 and MH, I have PC and MH and would like to switch up to T5. Check Ebay and Craigslist, sometimes you can get a deal.

A T5 6 lamp Tek system would be perfect , unfortunately the tank is the least costly portion of the program :) But happy birthday to you .
