They are by no means uncommon. I have a family member who has one. Also, a coworker has one. They're in pet stores everywhere. They are cute little dogs. I have seen them get nasty with children though. My Silky Cocker on the other hand is a pretty rare dog. I have only seen one other one and he's perfect with kids.

i tried "alright, do your business" but that's a little complex. i suppose potty will work for the time being. if anyone has any other tips that'd be great. i've been reading and reading on all the techniques and opinions but i like hearing what's working in practice. thanks for the help guys!

i think its all just through repetition peter. and everyone using the same commands. doesnt confuse the dog that way.

Yup, you have to use the same commands. Also, use positive reinforcement like a treat everytime he does well. You don't need to give him a whole treat - we actually use milk bones that are broken into small pieces. This way they still get a treat but you're not overfeeding them

haha! i told my wife and she agrees, it's a little counter-intuitive but just crazy enough it might work. even if it doesn't it would be great fun to watch!

I don't think this has been brought up in this thread, but how much does the dog weigh? Or how much is he techincally going to weigh?

Because uncommon or not, I have never heard of that breed of dog before in my life :)

seriously, we get them all the time at my work, their all crazy especially one lol i think he has some mental problems or something

these dogs typically weigh around 20lbs yours looks at a good weight, good luck brushing out the undercoat, its a pain, but wont be so bad with like a quick 10 minute a day brushing
