Know of any way to eradicate Brittle Star Fish?
Had a rock full of them way back in my 30 gallon...well it has followed along for over two years and now my 90 gallon is FULL of them!! every rock nook and crannies..... you name it ...power heads ..filter sock..etc etc. I thought it was funny at first...now there are thousands.
So...what can be done to RID them...or even thin them out a bit.?
    Thanx in advance..

    Hi Lillys Grandad

I always regard them as welcome additions , never considered the possiblity of having to many

    are they causing issues?

Personally, I would wait till there a decent size and trade them to a few LFS's for a store credit.

I would sell them or trade. They do a great clean up job in my tank and im sure it looks like an infestation but it is a good thing to have.

I would think you could put some meaty food in a glass and lean it against the rock (like a crab trap).

I am in agreement with the others in that they are a good thing to have. I have them all over the place too, but I see it as a good thing.

Bummer. I wish I had more bristle stars. I'm over growing with Asterina stars. Thought they were cute first, now it is ridiculous. I pull out about 300 every month. I would get a Harliquin shrimp but I don't want it eating all the other stars. Harliquins only eat starfish (that's right isn't it? It's a shrimp at least). You could get one of those.

I agree though, I like Bristle stars.
