I am wanting to add a Carpet Nem to my DT, but have heard they are voracious eaters and will eat some small fish. With this in mind, does anyone have a Carpet Nem in their tank? If so what has been your experience with them?

I am trying to get a mated pair of Misbar Oscellaris clowns to host in a nem. I am currently nursing a GBTA back to health that I got from the LFS for $5. It was nearly all white when I got it, but now is showing excellent color and nice bulbed tips. It appears to have found its spot, as it has not wandered since the first day in the tank. It also "pooped" two days ago, quite an interesting thing to see. :-X

It is because the owner of the LFS did not know what kind of nem he had. It was a hitch hiker, and was completely bleached. He has about 4 more, and if I can get mine back to health I will quickly buy the others, in order to make profit! ;D

Do you have a reef tank? They are known travelers, until they find a spot they like. Will kill/injure anything in it's path, so be careful.

I do have a mixed reef. I understand that they travel, as evident with the fact that as soon as the nem was in the tank it moved form the original spot. So far, it has found a spot that it has not moved from, and it is not close to any corals as of yet. I will keep an eye out for any movement, but it looks dug in. Thanks for the input though.

    Any experience with carpets?

Me? No, not really. I don't really trust them from everything I have read/seen on different sites(anemone's in general) But of course that is not to say they don't work out for people, just not for me.
