    Hey all.
Quick question to all those who built their own canopies.
I just finished mine over the 180 gal and was wondering what if anything I should coat the inside with to help withstand the elements.
    Thanks

Thompson's water seal/stain? With whatever stain you use, I would let it sit for a while longer than suggested to make sure the fumes don't contaminate the tank water.

mike brings up a good point.
it may be worth it to try to find a zero VOC stain, if they even make that

very cool. Thanks. I was just thinking a waterproof stain and maybe store suggesions on stains that can handle high tempuratures. But then again i am putting a vent above all 3 lights to help with the heat.

I use Zinnser BIN primer on the insides of my canopies. It works great, even if not top coated.

I'm also thinking after the stain to use some marine type paint like those used on boats to handle the salt and heat. Being in Chicago and not having any salt water does no help at all.
    Any suggestions there?

A 2 part epoxy paint has good water/humidity resistance.
