Hey guys, i have a little question... This is my first week into the tank the parameters are good and everything is fine. I am looking to purchase or find some new little tank mates but the places on the internet tell me i am looking at tell me that i am looking for too small of an order. Does anyone out there know what I should do. Or does anyone have a couple of snails and shrimp they wouldn't mind shipping for a little cost?

    Any info will be great...:):):)

    you could try reefcleaners.org

i don't think they have a minumum order, but its kinda a waste of money to buy alittle at a time online, shipping cost money.

Do you have a local fish store or even a Petco to go pick up a few crabs?

you could order some from live aquaria but you still have to pay the same shipping as any other order...that being said I would wait if the tank is only a week old. I rushed stocking mine a little bit and got lucky but if I had to do it again I would wait, my tank is not heavily stocked on inverts or fish at the moment though either...they have lowered there limit on BYO CUC to 60 bucks as well, I ordered when the limit was 80 and still dont have enough cleaners, they ship free if you by at least 60 though...how big is your tank?

It is a 5 gallon hex. 5 lbs base rock and 5 lb coraline sand. So what do you think i should do now?

The closest is 3 hours that i know of. It is where I bought everything from. And i have a Petco about an hour but they have not had crabs or snails every time I go... LOL

is 4 bucks in snails worth 30 bucks in overnight shipping to you? probably an exaggeration but I think this is where the minimums come in.

I agree you need to wait until after the cycle before buying/adding your CuC and when you get them, get them all at once to save on shipping.

ReefCleaners.org | Clean Up Crews and Macro Algae - Home I've used these guys many times. Very highly recommended. They will not sell you crap just to sell you something.

All these questions can be made to John Maloney. He does reefcleaners.org. I have done business with him a few times and he is great. There is a section on the site "custom clean up crew". You fill out the questionaire, and Mr. Maloney will give you your options. There is no expectation that you will buy. He will just tell you what he believes is your best bet, and let me tell you, I cannot think of anyone better to handle this.
