Getting ready to make a food order from DFS. Whenever I do order from them I like to add a couple of buckets of salt as the additional shipping charges are insignificant. (They base shipping on total price of order)

    Today price of salt:

    Instant Ocean 160 gallon mix [STRIKE]$36.99[/STRIKE] $29.59

    Reef Crystals 160 gallon mix [STRIKE]$39.99 [/STRIKE] $31.99

Know we have been down this road before, but don't recall results.

I have been a long, long user of IO.

Question: What does "Reef Crystals" give you that IO does not. And, correspondingly, is it worth the extra couple of $. [IMG]

Does IO come mixed with desired paramaters ,such as, calcium kh etc.? And I think IO makes reef crystals. I personally use Reef Crystals.

I remember the thread Scott and the majority uses IO. I have noticed thou that the mixes that come blended for "reefs" is better. The Cal, Mag, Sr and buffer levels are a higher than the others.

what kind of tank are you going to be using your salt for if it is reef I would recomend tropic marin or oceanic they are the best salts on the market curently

however if you are running a fowlr tank or fo then io is perfect for ya

reef crystals and the other salts I mentioned all have higher basic elements than IO this includes mg and ca and several others

Great stats RG, did you do a survey on all those brands of salt? You tested each one?
