Well I want to remove my toadstool from my 29G to my 150 because it's getting to big and I think it's releasing too much toxin into it.

Now I'm going to have to cut him in order to remove.
First... Can it be exposed to air?
Second... Can I give him a lugols solution dip so I can remove any possible bad things?

I don't think you are supposed to dip softies in iodine.

Seachem sells an iodine reef dip and claim it safe for all corals and anemones as well.

As for the toxins, generally chemical filtration has you covered here – but I could see your situation with a small 29 and a very large coral.

Cut him clean with a razor blade from the rock – have some reef epoxy or the like that you can reattach him with. He can be exposed to air without effect – I have fragged these at my kitchen table and fumbled out of water for several minutes while attaching the frags. I would of course advise you to keep the air to a bare minimum.

I have never been a fan of coral dipping, but I also do not think it to be detrimental. Since the coral is coming from your own tank, you should know if there are any “bad things” chances are you should not require the dip – its basically a disinfectant.

If you are woried about toxins just change your carbon before and after you frag the toadstool. Iodine dip should help with healing.

Yeah, the reason why I wan the dip is because of that hole in it.
I still haven't found anything that could have done it other than my CBS.
So I'm worried that if there is something I'll be moving it to my 150.

I do change the carbon quite often but my toadstool is gigantic. And I think it isn't quite enough. That's why I want to move him :p
