So I bought this guy a while ago and I have yet to see it 'Bubble".

    What exactly is this?

Is it footed in the live rock?

Not all BTA have bubble tips unfortunately. No rhyme or reason to it.

From the image it looks like a BTA.

Yea, its been attached to the same spot since I got it a few months back.

When I first got it it looked like this for a day maybe two:

yeah looks like one, the tentacles are slightly translucent (more so in BTAs) and thats true about the above post, my friend has a rose bubble tip, for 4 years it has split a few times, but never any bubble tips. different tanks produce better or worse nems

Its got a long stretch as you can see. The fish LOVES it at night when it reseeds into the rock work. About every day it deflates and comes back to life. I read somewhere with better lighting it will maybe have the bubble effect again. Is this true>

yes, most anemones feed photosynthetically, and dont need to be fed. (From what I understand anyways) where as coral though it feeds photosynthetically also feeds from phytoplankton and fish poop

Thanks!! I just installed my LED kit a few days ago. Maybe as I slowly raise the intensity it will "Bubble" up again.

Forgot to add those are beautiful images and yes it's a BTA. Bubble tips are generally not an indication of health IME.

Hey thanks! They are all iPhone pics. :)

This is my favorite picture, I lost this BTA due to a power head... It deiced to wander around the tank and got sucked into the power head.
