was kind of nervous putting a yasha in with my engineer goby since the engineer had already had time to establish its territory, but so far no problems. In fact today they are actually living together in the same burrow made by the pair of pistol shrimp. is this normal, or not ? I thought bottom dwellers were prone to fighting , the engineer is about 2" bigger than the yasha so I was affraid the yasha would get beaten up. will try to get pics of this if I learn to move faster.

    also:

i have heard that as the engineer grows it will eat smaller fish. is this an accurate statement ? if so should I worry about this in the future even if they "grow up together" ?

Do you have any larger fish? Sometimes smaller fish will cooperate if a bigger fish is involved. Just a thought...

    no big fish, just:

    tailspot blenny x 1
figi tomato clown x 1 (size of a quarter)
    yasha goby x 1
    engineer goby x 1
    randalls pistol shrimp x 2
    sexy shrimp x 2
    serpent star x 1
    mix of snails and hermits
    multiple corals

all in a 40b, so not overloaded by any means so im confused

the only thing i know about engineer gobies is that they are known to cause cave-ins. they are voracious diggers. Which is why I wont keep them.
