I have had a Oceanic biocube skimmer on my 29g for a few weeks now, and every day i have to clean out the collection cup, it is a green very watery substance in the cup..Should it be thicker and less watery? or is this right.

It might be wet skimming. If you want something "thicker" you need to adjust the air valve (if it has one not sure on that model) so It can dry skim. Wet skimming pulls more crud out but takes excess water with it.

there might be a way to lower your water line in it to wear more larger bubbles have to be formed to reach the collection cup=darker, thicker skim-mate.

Okay, i mean i have it where the main line of bubbles is at the top of the skimmer(not the fill cup) so ill see if it starts to dry skim a bit better..But is wet skimming better to do?

no wet skimming is pointless..the whole point of a skimmer is to pull out protein before it turns into nitrates..if you wet skim your not only pulling out a little bit of crud but your pulling out water thats going to mess up your salinity and just require you to top off more..also i think wet skimming pulls out trace elements.....when i skimmer is working correctly, i think you should be getting a very very dark green to black liquid goo paste..some people will argue that wet skimming is better for some reason, but if you wet skim then your not using your skimmer to its full potential..i get a cup full every three days of the blackish stuff..

i cant remember a whole lot about that skimmer, but as long as you can lower the waterline then you will get a dryer skim..or a more normal skim..you only the skimmer taking out proteins, depending on how "dirty" the water is it should take a few days to get a cup full...now with that small of one i think you should be getting a cup full every 2 days...look up on youtube about those skimmers and see what other peoples have been pulling out and see if they have modded it and what their skim-mate is..
