    Most pumps are rated at full flow with no restrictions or pump head. As the pump flow is throttled back either by use of a discharge valve or internal piping restrictions and friction the power consumed goes down.
    :) I thought the smiley would lighten the tone a little...

    :) I was just stating the listed watts by the manufacturer, no offense was intended. And your correct the measured power comsumption will be different than the max power consumption depending upon the load placed on the pump
