Was thinking about buying 2 250watt jager heaters. Already have a old ranco heater controller. Would 2 of those heaters be overkill for a 75 gallon? Should i go with 2 150 watt instead? Thanks)

With a 75g you should only need one heater. Unless you want one for back up but ive never had any problems with my 2 eheims. I would use either a 200 or 250w.

Its a good idea to have a bck up heater.
I used to use a Ranco dual stage controller but with the price of things like the Reefkeeper Lite and Apex it does not make sense anymore. I sold the Ranco, pH controller and probe, timers, outlet strips etc for enough to buy the RKL level 3 and never regretted it.

Do you have a sump? If so are you panning on putting them in the sump? They are very long and may not fit in your sump. I had to go with 2 smaller sized heaters, in high flow areas of the sump. But i like the quality of the heaters.

I really like my RKL. Had it several years now and its been almost flawless.
For heaters I prefer to stay away from glass heaters and have used Via Aqua Titaniums for the last almost 9 years now. The seperate controller and temp probe really make them nice.

Yes I have a sump. Going to put in the sump or the overflow area. That's good to know az. After I get set up def going to buy a rkl. Did not think of those heaters being glass. Always used stealth plastic heaters before but cannot seem to find them anywhere.. But people seem to really like the Jagger's.

There were some issues with the stealth heaters...they were burning up. I've heard it has been fixed, but it's hearsay, I can't say for sure.

Jagers are about the best thing out there ATM, esp if you run a temp controller. Your best bet is to run two lower power heaters as opposed to one larger heater, that way, you always have a backup if one goes south. However, the temp controller and the heater's internal thermostat should be PLENTY of "warm-fuzzy", since heaters rarely fail in the "off" position.
