I was looking at angelfish, and found a reef safe female japanese swallotail. According to the marine center they need a min of 55, but i might be able to get away with it. Anybody have experience with them? They are known not to nip at corals or inverts, aren't aggressive, and are hardy once established. Think this would work?

If i could get the angel i can tweak my stocking list around :)

I have no experience with them, but from what I hear they are one of the few 100% reef safe angels. I don't think size will be much of an issue if you get a smaller specimen.
I would add it last though. Angels aren't the easiest fish to keep, and they can be fairly territorial.

ok, i still have a lot of reading up to do, but they are neat looking fish.

I wonder if the angel would get along with my current hopeful stocking list:

pair of b & w clowns *already have*
    red velvet fairy wrasse
    midas blenny

They will get fairly large. 6-7in range. I had a wantanabe angel which is the same species of angel. Mine nipped an open brain to death and some kenya trees but never touched anything else. I loved it though. I would say that anything under a 75-90 would be a little cramped imo. Mine loved to swim and they do get fairly large. There is a gorgeous pair though on divers den! Hmmmm...

There are several reef safe angels. All are in the Genicanthus genus. I am considering getting one soon myself. I am looking at either a bellus or a watanabe. If I can get a watanabe I will.
