I'm new to fish in general but I have been reading non-stop about them. Right now I don't have the funds to start a nice reef tank and was looking at Nanos and came across the JBJ website. I have not found any reviews and was wondering what you thought about their 24 Gal. DLX tank.

    Thanks

I thought they had discontinued the 24 gallon version due to some cracking issues they were having...not 100 percent sure tho. I know some were cracking, I am not sure what the final remedy was tho.

Less problems (if any) with the 12 gallon and 6 gallon... ;D

The 3rd week of Nov, they are releasing a new version of the 24gal that is redesigned with better seals. I would love to have 2 or 3 clown fish, along with coral. That is my goal.

Best I can gather, if this holds true for the 24 gallon, I cannot say.

It seems like a decent setup, altho the lighting is a bit shy of anemone/clam/sps keeping ability. Which still leaves lots of options...softies, zoanthids, LPS, and of course, fish. Tends to run on the warm side with the DX lighting. May need an iceprobe chiller if your room is not climate controlled.

Not really any room for a skimmer, altho I hear one is on the verge of release that should fit in there.

I, personally , like that it is glass and not acrylic (less likely to scratch)

You may need to upgrade the pump.

Does this about cover it? I am assuming similarities between the 12 and the 24 gallon. Did you have specific questions? There are also other options available as well. Via Aquas and Eclipses are quite popular as well. ;D

    Niiicce! ;D

Here is a link for the Eclipse...

Most stock setups need major lighting upgrades to keep some corals and clams tho. That Nanocustoms website looks pretty cool! check it out!

What are you thinking of keeping in your tank? Most of your decisions will be centered around that, so do start planning in that fashion... ;D
