    I've heard the clamp is quite flimsy, get some small c clamps or electric clamps at home depot to keep it from falling in your tank

    Mine melted from the heat. I would reinforce it so if it does, it dosn't fall in the water.

    we bought one a couple months ago and have not had any problems with it. The light it self gets VERY VERY HOT and even with the metal cage around it you can cause a small burn on your hand. But I like the light personally!

    IIRC it was the top clamp and the arm between the top and middle clamp and the wires in the arm. Came home and found it burnt out and dangling an inch over the water. Luckily I had the lower arm raised vertically or it would have been in the drink. That was a few years ago, so maybe they improved it, but it sure looks the same.
