Does this skimmer have to be place INSIDE the sump, or can it hang outside the sump with its inlet/outlet tubes inside the sump?

I have the jebo 180 hang on skimmer it produces skimmate contiually but i have made 3 modifications that increased output alot.1, was enlarging the openings for water intake 2, was shortening the tube that carries the water 3, was enlarging the collection cup lid.
I made one other mod but it was just an overflow mod.

I have no idea how a skimmer could skim better but it is the only skimmer i have ever bought.

example:when i feed my fish the skimmer very shortly (60seconds)starts spewing out more bubbles than normal.

Can you give me some pics of how you hooked up the powerhead? My Jebo that I just bought just fills up completely with water and overflows onto the floor in about 5 seconds. It doesnt seem to make a difference how I adjust it, thats all it does. :-[

    Re: Jebo

I don't know about their skimmers either, however, I have had Jebo PC lights on my tank for years now. Although they do not have fans like all of the expensive ones, they were cheap as hell and are still doing just fine. In fact I planned on doing a review on them today but never got around to it. These light fixtures are 4 X 55 watt (220 total) and can be picked up on Ebay for around 60 bucks plus shipping. :xmas:Thats cheap!!:first:

Jebo Protein Skimmer for 75 gallon

I just bought this protein skimmer and it did not include the instructions. I set this thing up to the best of my ability and it appears to be running alright, however I am not getting any foam in the collection cup. I let the reaction chamber fill up all the way to just about the top. I see the microbubbles in the reaction chamber however again, I am not getting any foam. It has been running for about 2 days now. Any suggestions or advice?

Your skimmer probably just needs to be broken in but they are crappy skimmers, my Jebo for some reason wouldnt stop overflowing the collection cup with water no matter how I adjusted it.

Here is the answer so far. Because I just bought the same one.. (with no instructions) Are these ripped off????? Anyways, the airhose MUST go into the intake on one ofthe little needles, that is how you get the bubbles. the modified powerheard should have a cap over the input on the side.

I have a Jebo protein skimmer that I bought off ebay. I believe that you "get what you pay for".I never made it work. But, I have great success with my 2 seaclones and my red sea skimmers. They perform perfectly. They dont shoot out all the micro bubbles and always have a nice cup of dark green nasty stuff.
I wash or replace my powerhead foam pads regularly.
