Since I put water in the aquarium and sump to do leak testing, I guess I have officially started my new build. I decided to do a thread just for it as the information on the upgrade purchase isn't relevant to the actual build.

    SPECS:

    • Aquarium - Marineland Deep Dimension Systems 150 Gallon 36"x36"x27" with Starphire Glass across the front and a Corner-Flo Filtration with high and mid-range overflow. It has a 36" x 36" Glass Canopy (I may or may not use it).
    • Stand - Marineland Monterey Series Stand and Canopy.
    • Sump - Marineland Model 2 Acrylic Sump (30.5"x11.5"x12.5" - 18 Gallons) using a Maxi-Jet 5500 Pump for the return. Two 250 watt Stealth Heaters. Marineland MarinePro 300 skimmer.
    • AquaEuro 1/4HP Chiller
    • Lighting
      • DT - Two IceCap PRE WIRED 36" 4 Lamp T5 Retrofit Kits. Two Ecoxotic Panorama 12W LED fixtures (One with 12 453nm Blue LED and one with 8 white and 4 453nm Blue LEDs)
      • Moonlight - Neptune Systems Dimmable Lunar Simulator - 5 LED
    • Circulation - Two Marine Vortech MP40W with Battery Backup.
    • TANK CONTROL & MONITOR
      • Neptune AquaController Jr. with: Temp Probe, PH Probe Lab Grade, 2-DC8, Serial Port w/cable
      • Tunze Osmolator Universal 3155 (ATO) with 5 gallon reservoir
    • Filtration -
      • 124 Gallons Water
      • 170 lbs Live Rock
      • 110 lbs live sand
      • Coralife Turbo-Twist 3X 9 watt UV
      • Two Little Fishies Phosban Reactor 150 Using NP Biopellets Filter Media
    • Dosing - SeaChem Reef Advantage Calcium, SeaChem Reef Builder + Seachem Reef Buffer using BRS 2 Part Doser pumps
    • Water Prep - Purtek 100GPD RO/DI Filter System water mixed with SeaChem Reef Salt.
    • Again - Single 20 Amp circuit with GFI.
Official start Date 6/26/2010. I estimate that I will be able to transfer kritters and rock from my 75Gallon the week after the 4th of July.

Do you have individual reflectors for each bulb? If not the lighting will not penetrate very well.

    Thanks!

Thanks for dropping by.:) Read your tank thread - 150s are a great size. Your last aquascape with the additional rock looks good. I'm hoping that because it's a cube, I can have open channels down the middle to give it that perception of depth. I will be painting two of the sides black as the tank will be going in a corner. City codes insist on having houses with a lot of windows. Can't find a single wall in the living room that is over four feet that isn't in direct sunlight. Where I will be placing the stand will still get direct morning sunlight in the left most front corner for ten minutes in late spring through early summer. At least morning sunlight is not too intense.

Thanks for dropping by. I'm hoping it will be awesome too. If it isn't, I'm in hot water with the wife.

Yes there are individual reflectors, they attach directly to the bulbs. I'm concerned that they may block air flow from the fans. The IceCaps are automatically overdriven by 30% and do heat up. I am still trying to position the lighting so I will have even coverage. The Blue LED's are for wake up and go to sleep, where the White/Blue LED's are for shimmer in an otherwise glum waterscape.
