    Leaving chiller in

Well - after a long debate with myself, I've decided to leave my chiller in place. My big concern was how to handle the large water additions to the ATO when we go on a trip, or a weekend away.

I've decided that placing the glass canopy back in place and adding an external 20-40 Gallon external ATO reservoir should do the trick. Now I have to test the theory and see how it works. I don't plan to put the entire glass canopy back in place. It comes as three separate pieces connected but removable. I'll remove the first section which will allow the automatic feeder to function.

    Any opinions?

    auto dosing in place

I have installed my two dosing pumps and configured them for a two week dosing period. Need to adjust the concentration and bump up to a three week dosing period. The corals seem to like the hourly dosing a lot better than the twice a week I was doing. Currently running for 8 minutes every hour with a concentration as calculated using the SeaChem tools. Dosing Calc with one pump and Buffer/DK with the other. Still adding the Mag to my top off water. With the glass canopy back in place, I'm only using five gallons :) of top off water a week - looks like my 18 gallon external reservoir will be more than adequate for a three week trip.
