Figured I would start my build thread.

Was up almost all night last night. Moved the old setup into temporary storage totes. Drilled the refugium for gravity returns. Pumped a ton of RODI water. Mixed the salt. Started plumbing. Good God was the plumbing a pain. I underestimated the amount of plumbing that would be needed for this. Took me 3 trips to the store for more parts.

Everything is in and running, now just waiting for the new sand to settle before I can Aquascape.

Once that is done, I can reintroduce my corals and fishies.

I am so sick of cheap heaters. I had one run hot, and another quit completely. Killed 4 nice SPS and a bicolor angel and my urchin.

Had to do a rapid acclimation on my other fish back to the main tank. My anthias are not looking good. Hopefully, they will pull through.

Ended up with a leaking return pipe just above my pump. It is buried behind my refugium and is a PITA to get to. Will fix that tomorrow night. In the meantime, no sump, skimmer, or refugium in system.

On a side note: I got to blow off about $15K worth of fireworks last night. So stoked about that.

Woops almost forgot. I also added about 250Lbs of live rock today. A local was tearing down his tank and sold me the rock for $225. This included some very nice Tonga.
Also added the rest of the sand tonight.
Will be sure to post pics as soon as the sand settles.
