After a few years out of the hobby, I am back in and shocked at the changes that happen in just a short time. My last tank (55 reef) was source of great pride and sometimes headaches, but that is the way it goes. I had it up and running for 5 years, and after a horrible battle with hair algae and cyano (won both those battles, thank you very much!), my system was stable and THRIVING! Then we moved. The move wasn't that bad and I had no issues getting everything to the new house, I just needed a few days before I could set the tank back up. Well, my LTA had different plans and really didn't like being kept in the tub. He decided to end it all and jumped into the powerhead, turning the tub (holding about $6000 worth of fish and corals) into a big bowl of toxic soup. Not my best day. That was enough for me to call it quits... Fast forward a few years and an opportunity to help a friend of a friend emerged. He is in the military and got called up and just didn't have the time to take care of his tank, so I picked it up for pennies on the dollar. So now I have a 90, but it has taken me about 6 months to bring it back to good condition. The water quality was horrible, the readings off the roof. The Yellow Tang and Coral Beauty both had horrible HLLE. The scars are still there, but they are both healed and as healthy as they can be now. I have upgraded the lights to LED (new technology from when I last was Salty) and am slowly restocking my corals. I am shocked at the cost of some of the corals now!

Well, I am sure I will have some questions as I go along this journey, but until then, I am just glad to be back into the hobby!
