ok well this is very off topic but felt the need to share this....It all started two days ago when me and my fiance were watching the "dark knight" since we just got it on dvd. Somehow the topic of gingerbread houses came up and i told her that i have never actually built a gingerbread house. So she insisted on going to the supermarket and building a gingerbread house. Well I said i dont wanna do your everyday run of the mill gingerbread house and we needed to do something out of the norm and totally awesome! So what is more totally awesome than the batmobile from Tim Burtons batman movies?

So one thing led to another and before long i was building a paper model of the batmobile in order to create one out of gingerbread. For the last 2 days we have been working on this thing and we are just about done other than some touch ups that need to be done here and there. All in all i am so proud of our gingerbread batmobile that i had to share with you all haha! so with no further a do i bring you.....the gingerbread batmobile!

    Here is where we started....

    which soon turned into this...

a bit of chocolate coating and other decor to get the ideas rolling...

then the final product of our madness....(still needs some minor touch ups but you get the idea) HAHA!!

its all made from gingerbread, various icing (some store bought some made from scratch) reese's peanut butter cups, mini m&m's, and marzipan.
the wheels, details on the wings, the headers, and the side air intakes are all made from marzipan.

That is so freaking cool! We used to build houses every year when the kids were young, but now that they are both in college its just not the same.
