If you're a city, county or state employee, they have dibs on calling you first if they don't have enough of a pool.
I was sitting on a capital case. It was alright except for the dinner they provided us.
The dude on trial blasted a tweeker though his front door. The tweeker chased the dudes kid all the way up to their apartment & was trying to kick in the front door to grab the kid. Apparently, the kid stold the tweekers meth or ice that he asked the kid to "hide" for him. The dude on trial, was handicapped (could barely walk) & thought the tweaker was going to come through the door. So, he picked up an old M1 carbine & blasted this tweeker through his front door. Case closed.
Went and saw the apartment & hole in the front door. The only thing that saved the dude was that the tweeker almost made it inside & had kicked a large hole into the door. The poor dude & his kid were acquitted.
If you get called, just go in and be yourself. Act like you're nodding off during selection!!

I think we can get called up anytime as well. Anyone that gets a DL is automatically entered into the lottery.

Finally a good one. The entire "your home is a castle" really doesn't apply here in CA for the most part. Glad to hear they got acquitted :)

Yeah, the poor guy lived in the bad part of town & worked for like GoodWill or something. Supposedly that apartment was all he could afford. This tweeker was a cockroach having this 14 yr old kid sell his crap for him.

    Problem solved.

Hahaha in TN you can legally kill someone on your property out of "self defense" as long as there are no signs of the victim/trespasser/whatever attempting to leave before he died. All you gotta do is clean up some mess and drag them away from the door and you're set. Yeah, that definitely sounds like a TN law.
