    i have some new growth going on in my 55 gallon tank. It just erupted a week ago. Not sure what it is.

    That would be aiptasia. Its a pest anenome and should be eradicated asap or it will take over you tank.

    Yeah it looks good..they spread everywhere which give a nice impression..i have a question..are they harmful or what? If not i'd recommend you to go for it without any hesitation.

    they will spread like crazy and damage/destroy your corals. the quicker you get rid of it, the better you will be.

    It doesn't look good. They are Harmful.

    +1000!! They are very harmful and will spread quicker than you think. Read info on how to get rid of them. If you try and manually remove it will spread a lot quicker.
