    Dont be confused :)
Here is a link to some articles that Matt Rogers wrote. He is a world renown authority on the care and setup of saltwater aquariums. Read these articles ( Step1, Step 2, and Step 3) and think about them for a while. If you have questions afterwards, there are people who will chime in and give you good suggestions for a book and online advice.

Dont overdue the salt, make sure you measure it. Too much salt can be detrimental to life in the tank. Get it up to atleast 1.022.

Hah. Yeah right! :) Well I hope they help anyway. And yes feel free to ask questions. I'm moving this post to 'new to the hobby' to help others too.

thanks for your help, i do have another important ques. that i really would love your feedback.
ok, i live in an apartment and i don't have alot of room or $ but i really need to have my sw tank. if i can't afford the purification system(or i am not allowed to do it in my building) would one of those attachments to the faucet and water conditioner be good enough? i would buy the purified water but i have a 55g tank therefore i have no available storage space to keep bottles of water. please help and remeber i am on a tight budget. thanks again everyone
