I went to my home country last month and also happened to visit Kanyakumari - South most tip of India. Town is famous for Vivekananda Rock and Thiruvalluvar(famous poet statue(kinda statue of Liberty ;)).

Surprisingly noticed lots of corals on rock near shore and half of them submersed under water but most of them on the surface. They have been constantly hit by waves. I have taken pictures before waves hit them, almost all rocks has corals on sides and each rock at least 15-50 feet in length.

Sorry for poor pictures, just had my iphone that time.

Thanks for sharing the pictures. What kind of corals do you think they are? Beautiful family you have there BTW.

Thank you. I think they all different kind of Zoas. I am quite surprised to see them exposed out of water and still open.
