You'll get a little pop up thing that says thanks for giving this person karma, hopefully they'll return the favor or something like that. When you click on the scales you have to choose positive or negative and then click add to reputation.

 

When you click the scale symbol it should pop up a window saying do you approve or disapprove and allowing you to put in a comment. Then you hit submit.

BTW -- don't know for sure, but the pop up looks like it might be javascripted. If you aren't seeing it, check your browser settings.

View the persons profile and go to the bottom. It will show the last few Karma they have received.

 

Never ventured down that far haha cool..didn't know that

 

You can check on who gave you Karma by clicking on your USER CP. It will show the thread, what post they liked, and any comments they may have made.
