I upgraded my 150w 10k to 14k Phoenix bulbs, they are really blue!
any one have any experience with this brand?
Am I correct in my belief that higher k means more growth?

No the higher the K doesn't necessarily mean more growth.
The higher the k the bluer the light.

I understand the blue part. I purchased the new lamps so I did not have to run the atinics all day but This brand is so more blue than my other 14000K I am not sure I like them.

Give it a little time for them to break in. I have 14k on my tank (Iwasaki 50k - misnomer) and they start out real blue but after a while they are more white. Of course, they are a different brand but waiting a little bit might not be a bad idea.

It takes many hours for a bulb to burn in, give it time.

The higher the kelvin, typically, lower the PAR = less growth, but some more more color.
