    carbonate hardness tests (KH) are the same as alkalinity tests right?

    Close enough for our needs. Actually for chemical analysis they are different. Very confusing when I read the description.

    There is a formula you can use to convert alk to KH. If you only have an Alk test kit you can take that number (3.4, 3.8, 4.1 meq/l ) or whatever your number is and multiply it by 2.8 that will give you your total DKH. But yes Alk and KH or DKH (carbonate hardness) are the same thing.
